19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the recent weeks - climaxing in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over Frenchman Moutet.
It is the player's first championship since the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface since March of 2023.
Victory also means Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the first title I got when my older daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His retrieving play style and regular reactions on court had led observers to doubt if his skill to compete at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to advance forward and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.
The competitors traded break points in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his maiden professional title, seized the initiative to create a third set.
He defended 4 early break points in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to that score to close out the victory.
Appropriately, he secured the win with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
